Congrats everyone on completing the raid dungeon – we even one-shot Joloral!

Guurloth Falls!

Guurloth Falls

Guurloth Falls
Another exciting night in Gilded Prophecy and another boss falls to the might of the Scarlet Underground. Guurloth, aka “Simon Says,” is dead.

This was a great accomplishment for SU as the Guurloth’s fight is all about following directions. It was a huge confidence builder for our raid team considering how new we are as a unit and how quickly we’ve accomplished these kills. Anrak fell on our first night of raiding (only the second night the guild was together). Guurloth fell after only five solid attempts.

We also put in four attempts on Thalguur, getting him to around 50% twice. This guy should be dead on Sunday!

Congrats to Luzza on his Thick Gold Belt and to Aalwein on his Earthshadow Tunic. Also, congrats to Agentj, who picked up the Mace of Longing and Ancient Ethian helm from Anrak on Wednesday.

Finally, the Scarlet Undergound is currently recruiting folks for our 20-man raid team. We are very light on mages and clerics, and could also use a few warriors. We are still full on rogues.

Day Two: Anrak Falls

Day Two: Anrak Falls

Day Two: Anrak Falls

Who says when you start things over you have to start them off slow? On only day two after Scarlet Underground refilled its ranks, it was off to the races. We ventured into Gilded Prophecy with limited but optimistic expectations – but we never would have guessed we’d nearly one shot our first boss as a group.

Anrak the Foul, the scorpion and first boss of GP, went down without much of a fight. Attempt one we got him to 3%. I think the excitement of doing so well got to us at the end. Three tries later, the bug (yeah, I called it a BUG) was dead.

Congrats to Luzza on the Mace of Greed and Aalwein on the Quantum Repeater.

Another Revitalization

17 Jul

Scarlet Underground faltered on Corthana (I mean, honestly, who could have known it would be a Trial server?) but it has moved on to live again.

Now on Laethys, Scarlet Underground will become a late night raiding guild focused on progression without running members into the ground with a heavy raiding schedule.

More details will be forthcoming.

SU Featured at Tank Telara

Scarlet Underground - March 2011

Scarlet Underground has been profiled by the folks over at Tank Telara! They interviewed Aalwein and had a lot of great things to say about us. We are the first guild to be profiled at Tank Telara in their new weekly guild spotlight series.

Check it out right here!

Fifties and More Dungeons

15 Mar

Kahzdyn and Iroh Hit Level 50

The guild has been hard at work grinding levels and skilling up our crafters. We have several people in that upper echelon of the level grind, formerly known as the fourties, and we have finally welcomed our first and second level 50′s!

Congrats to Kahzdyn – our first fifty! Following closely on his heels was Iroh, who finished off his grind just two days later. Congrats Iroh!

Scarlet Underground has also knocked out its third normal dungeon, putting the Foul Cascade to shame in an utter display of win.

Lastly, we have our first crafter in the 300 club. Aalwein (with a ton of help from Kahzdyn) is now a 300 club member in Outfitting.

Another dungeon down – Darkening Depths

5 Mar

Darkening Depths Defeated

We went into the Darkening Depths with barely a torch to light the way; unsure of what we would encounter and a list of quests to complete. About an hour later, the council of goblins lie at our feetĀ  and the Darkening Depths was vanquished.

This dungeon was much longer and drawn out than the Realm of the Fae, but if you are simply doing a boss run, you’ll only have to do the lower portion. That cuts off about 15 minutes of time or so. The bosses in DD are much more strategy oriented however. Watch out for pools of bad (fire or whatnot) and setup a kill order before you jump into the bosses… oh, and listen to the NPCs when they tell you to “Get him out of the moonlight!”

RIFT Goes Live, SU Smashes RotF

1 Mar

Scarlet Underground's First RotF run

Head start is now over and RIFT is now officially live to everyone – boxes are on the shelves. RIFT launched with 99 servers which is absolutely insane for a new MMO. Hopefully this doesn’t thin out the population to much. Needless to say, it seems like we need more people on Corthana. The population gets a bit thin in the late evening Aussie time. If you are reading this and still on the fence about playing RIFT, you are truly missing out on the next great MMO – jump in and join us!

The guild is doing very well. We have several people in their high 20s and even one in his 30s (Kahz, – that was a lot of cloth!). Along with our old timer core we picked up a group of folks who even switched from Defiant to Guardian to join us after Wolfsbane’s initial overcrowding. One who shall remain unnamed is freakin nuts with the tradeskill alts.

In actual game news, SU stomped Realm of the Fae without blinking. We smashed through it three times in one day (twice in an hour) and knocked out our guild quest, which subsequently got us level 2. Yay us! I don’t know about everyone else, but RotF was extremely fun. And we proved Riftstalker is most certainly a viable tank spec!
